This is one of the 3 synchro competitions used to qualify teams for U.S. Synchro Nationals which will take place in Portland, Maine, March 3-7, 2009 -- link to the article about Portland's selection: http://www.usfigureskating.org/Story.asp?id=41484&type=news
Since you like synchro, perhaps you could arrange to attend either Easterns or Nationals if they're not too far away for you?
Official site for the Eastern Synchro Sectional (not much info there yet because it's still early): http://www.synchroeast2009.com/
If you want to check out a small local club competition, the Charter Oak Open will be held at the ISCC rink in Simsbury, CT on July 18-19. It should be free admission.
Also, the Nutmeg State Games figure skating competition will be held in Danbury, CT next weekend, July 12-13 -- for more info, go to: http://www.laurelridgesc.com/Nutmeg_State_Games.html

Since not all of these competitions air on TV, perhaps you can subscribe at the icenetwork.com to watch them? That makes it easy to see some of the regional and sectional events right at your own computer.

Dana, there's no way to tell who's going to skate in any competition until after the entry deadline has passed. The applications for Regionals haven't even been issued yet. The best you can do is keep checking the websites for the individual competitions.
This is the page for New England Regionals in Kingston, MA: http://www.yarmouthiceclub.org/2009Regionals/Index.html
After Regionals are held in October, the winners will go to Sectionals in Boston. Then we'll know who they are.
In the meantime, the summer competitions are in full swing in New England. Besides, the Charter Oak Open in Simsbury, there's the Cranberry Open at The Bog in Kingston, MA, the Smithfield Open in Rhode Island and the Boston Open to give everyone an idea of who's competing at what levels and who might be going to Regionals.

Yes, that's the host club's event page.

This is the the link to USFS' event page for Eastern Sectionals In November: http://www.usfigureskating.org/event_details.asp?id=39560
The top finishers at Easterns Sectionals will go on to 2009 U.S. Nationals in Cleveland (to be televised on NBC).

Dana, the deadline for entering Regionals isn't until Sept. 1. The list of people who entered won't be assembled and published for a couple weeks after that.
While you can get a good idea of who's skating at what level from the summer competitions, there's no way to know for sure who will enter New Englands (or any other Regional) until after the Sept. 1 deadline.
Tickets for Regionals are available at the door. According to the Yarmouth Ice Club site, the prices are $25.00 for an all-event pass or $10.00 per day. There are no reserved seats so it's just come in, buy your ticket, sit where you want.

This information will be available on the host club's web site, but it's too early to find any of this out yet. The deadline for the skaters to enter the competition isn't until September 1, and the referee can't make a schedule for the different events until they know how many skaters have entered. Be patient, and keep checking that link for the New England Regionals that blue111moon gave you. I wouldn't expect schedule info before the end of September. They might post their ticket prices earlier. Usually there aren't actual tickets you get in advance. You just pay at the door and they give you a wrist band or something like that. You can either pay by the day, or buy a pass for the whole week. (Just noticed that blue111moon already told you this - pay at the door, $10/day or $25 for the week. There are no reserved seats, and you can watch whatever events you want.)

TICKET PRICES for the New England Regional Championships in Kingston, Mass., October 2-5, 2008:
All Events (for entire competition, Thursday-Sunday) $25.00
Daily $10.00 (can buy at the door)
Children under 5 free
The competition schedule will not be available online until around late September (the link will be posted here for you). There will be singles events for Senior, Junior, Novice, Intermediate and Juvenile level ladies and men (no pair or dance events). Although there most likely will not be any "famous" (TV skaters) competing here, you can still see some good skating from young, talented skaters who may be famous one day. :)
