Say,I'm looking at a printout of competitions from the US Figure Skating Website, and acording to their schedule competitions are not until either Oct,Nov. or Dec. Does anyone know if that is the eaiest there scheduled for? Or are there Summer competitions that they just don't have listed? Thanks.

There are MANY, many competitions over the summer & fall. What level of competition are you looking for, basic skills? adult? non-qualifying? qualifying? What state or area of the country?

The Regional competitions are held in October, and the Sectional competitions in November. Junior Nationals (which are for Juvenile and Intermediate skaters, even though the word Junior is in the name) are in December. The U.S. National Championships, which are the ones on television and are for Novice, Junior, and Senior skaters, are in January. Local clubs hold non-qualifying competitions all the time - my club's competition is in June, for instance. Local competitions are not televised, though, and even the Regionals, Sectionals, and Junior Nationals are not televised, although they are shown on IceNetwork.

You might be thinking about Skate America - the first of the Grand Prix competitions - it is October 22-24th I think - I don't know when it will be televised.

2008 Skate America will take place October 24-26 and I would assume that the top Men's and Ladies' free skates will be televised on NBC. As soon as the TV schedule has been finalized, I'm sure a link will be posted here, don't worry. :)
