Ok Kids. I thougt we could have a little fun today. What I want you to do today is...list the skaters from each Discipline you would love to have for a friend and why. Please use the following format...

For me my friends would be....

Ladies Freestyle = Ashley Wagner,Kimmie Meissner,Katy Taylor,Rachael Flatt and Emily Hughes

Men = Not sure.

Pairs = Jessica Dube and Bruce,Rene and John

Ice - Dance = Melissa and Denis

Reason for friendships = I pick those skaters because as far as I have seen they are very nice and seen like they would help you with your skating if you ever needed it. I also know I could become very close to them.

Ok Kids.....GO!!!!

I'm a bit old school in my answers, but these are definitely my faves. I do happen to be a raving Sasha Cohen fan (she's like me - her own worst enemy at times), so I'd include her as well (most of my friends are either younger than I or older than I, so this list is probably both appropriate and accurate!).

Ice Dance: Torvil and Dean

Being married to a Brit, and having lived for a very short time in the UK, I just know they'd be up for a pint or two! (These folks are so famous in the UK, even my non-figure skating, albeit British, DH knows who these two are - in fact, the first time I mentioned them, his exact words were, 'Of COURSE I know who Torvil and Dean are, for God's sake'.) Plus, Jayne looks like a girl who could probably keep up with me the next time I'm in London!

Freestyle men: Scott Hamilton

This guy is amazing to me. Being an oncology nurse myself, I think he and I share causes close to our hearts (but for different reasons, of course) and I'd love to work with him on some of his projects. His energy and enthusiasm are infectuous; I love people like that. (Plus - the fact that he was the first to do the back flip on blades is just too cool - I saw him do it live when I was a kid and I thought, how AWESOME is that?)

Freestyle women: Dorothy Hamill

I mean, who WOULDN'T want to be able to count an American icon as their close friend, you know? Plus - I think she'd be up for some skating tips as well (she'd also be able to put up with my AOSS - something I think a few of my friends find difficult to deal with!). If she's truly as genuine in person as she comes across on television, then I think she'd be a great friend to have. Would love to do lunch and coffee with her.

I also wouldn't mind hanging out with Katarina Witt. I think she'd be an interesting person to get to know.

I'm not as much a fan of pairs as I used to be, but I like Bruce and Jessica; they just seem like nice people. I'm more into ice dancing now.
