Ok Kids!!! I don't think we've ever talked about this before. But I would love to know from all of you is....what skater made your fav. Disciiplines your fav.s? Please use the following format. For me it's....
Pairs = I'd guess I'd say that Katie and Gerrett got me into Pairs.
Dance = I guess if I rember right it was Melissa and Denis.
For Synchro. = It was Team Esprit.
So those are mine. Please only say you fav. Disciplnes. One skater for each. Ok Kids............GO!!!!!!!!!!!

Missed this forum the first time around somehow -
Dance: Torvil and Dean most assuredly got me hooked on dance.
Pairs: I remember when I was a kid I liked Peter and Kitty Caruthers for pairs - just because I thought it was cool that a brother and sister could do something like that together.
Freestyle Men: it must have been either Scott Hamilton or Robin Cousins - I remember both of them.
Freestyle women: I remember Dorothy Hamill (as does every girl who was old enough and a skating nut back then) - but I also liked Elaine Zayak, Denise Bielmann, and Rosalynn Sumners. I literally grew up watching every ABC Sports presentation of figure skating/Olympics that came on!
Synchro: do ice shows count? They were the first "synchro" skating I ever saw (please don't let that offend any synchro folks - it's not meant to!). I've seen the Haydenettes online, though - and they're incredible.

I got interested in different disciplines in this order:
Pairs: Kilius & Baumler got me really to love pairs skating
Ladies: Peggy Fleming, Karen Magnussen and Dorothy Hamill
Men: John Curry. Before him I was not really interested to watch menīs skating
Dance: Torvill & Dean
Thinking of the long time I have watched figure skating, the menīs has been my most favourite discipline of all time.
