I can't remember another world championship that has been as exciting as this event! Canadian performances have been outstanding this week. To have three medals and a top five performance from Joannie in the womens event (that could have been a medal had she skated cleanly) - wow! My previous favorite championship was 1993 in Prague - Brasseur and Eisler, Browning, Stojko - the first championship for Bourne and Kraatz, and the opportunity that was there (but sadly unrealized for Josee Chouinard) - but I think this week has been just as exciting if not even more exciting. Congratulations Canadian team - looking forward to Vancouver...

and it is exactly what Canadian figure skating needed - ! We needed a solid performance at Worlds to get some enthusiasm going; plus, the ones that won are a) extremely attractive b) extremely marketable and c) extremely articulate. The interview Jeff gave in the kiss and cry was wonderful, and really shows what an intelligent and decent guy he is ...
anyways, DS is partying in the basement now that his skating idol has won at last. I'm off to watch the result; I know I'll be seeing more focus on spins and edge quality on the ice this week.

Well said! I mean, Canadian skating fans have known that these skaters have had this potential and they are all such wonderful champions - hard working, talented, articulate, extremely marketable people. It's unfortunate that the media had to be hit over the head to realize this - but that's what has happened this week. I am so excited as we prepare for Vancouver - well done!
I wonder if CBC might be kicking themselves abit for just having commentators "call in" from Toronto instead of actually covering the event.
First mens champion in eleven years.....and not even Ron Black to hassle him backstage ... just not the same
Anyway it's so good to see all the hard work pay off for the skaters and for Skate Canada..

I loved Jessica Dube and Bryce Davison's performance. The British comentators loved it too as the best peroformance they had seen in the pairs this year at worlds. It just grabbed the audiences attention from the start

It was nice to see Jessica Dube win a medal, especially after that terrible mis-hap when she got injured by her partner's skate.
