I know they are allowed lyrics now, but 2 teams used props. B/A had a cowboy hat that they passed around and the French? team (sorry don't remember name and not totally sure they were French) had scarves. I did not know props were allowed. In one case, the scarf was used to support the woman in a lift.

Props are a new feature added by the ISU this year for ISU dance competitions. They were first seen at the Europeans in Zagreb. The rule is that the prop must be retained for the entire program and cannot be discarded. With that, alot have chosen to incorporate them into the costume so they can be put out of the way when not in use

^ Plus I think the props rule is only for the OD, not the other portions of the competition (tho' I could be wrong about that).

That's correct, and if the prop touches the ice it is a 1 point deduction.
