I'm after putting together a CD or 2 to bosh on at the local rink from time to time of good songs to skate to

so far I have

terrorvision - d'ya wanna go faster
goo goo dolls - slide
papa roach - scars
disturbed - fear

I'm more after some metal or light rock

anyone got any recommendations?

Steppenwolf's Magic Carpet Ride was my first choice for a program last year.

The Who's Tommy is a lot of fun to skate to, but it's too fast for me to do footwork.

most celebrity sung disney tracks like

A whole new world from Aladin (Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle)

At the Beginning from Anastasia (Donna Lewis and some guy) I know its not disney!!

Both these are great for pairs or dance

Then there is Eric Clapton and Wonderful tonight

The aladin sound track is just far too metal for my liking

I've taken to watching some home made skating videos on youtube to find some good tunes, already found two more

Get Up by Superchick is a great song to skate to - slightly too poppy maybe, but it's really inspiring.

I actually have a whole figure skating playlist on my ipod with really inspiring songs, so I could go on . The others are pretty much pop - the only songs I have on my ipod that aren't indie/metal/rock are my skating ones hehe.

I have loads of songs on my mp3 player but can't really take it on the ice as it's got a 4.5" screen for watching movies on

Might have to invest in a zen stone instead but yeah still on the hunt out for new tracks

As I'm far from any kind of jump and still mastering three turns and cross overs I don't want music I can show off to, more music to inspire me.

Will check out that song, thanks

I found a really cool website (http://www.tvtunesonline.com/) that has TV show theme songs, and I'm liking a lot of the older stuff. I use Audacity to convert the WAVs to MP3s. I have a really cool Spotlight routine for the original Mission: Impossible TV theme song.

I also have a ton of groovy stuff on my palm pilot, but I highly recommend the soundtrack for Take The Lead. I've found a lot of good stuff to cut down to size on it.

I LOVED that movie!!!!!!!

We have XM Radio (FINALLY) at my rink, and at public skates they BLAST it.... you can't hear your ipods....maybe they do that on purpose?

Wow, I remember White Lion--it's been a while since I listened to them. I have a tape of theirs somewhere at home.

When I'm skating, I love to listen to Outkast--especially The Way You Move. (But I don't know the lyrics well, so I'm not sure if there's anything naught in them...):D

Also now added some santana tracks featuring guest singers for anyone who is after new songs to skate to, these are excellent

Santana featuring Chad Kroeger (lead singer of nickelback) - Into the night
Santana featuring Steven Tyler - Just feel better
Santana featuring a dude who's name I can't remember - Maria Maria
