Cynthia Phaneuf

Just wondering if anyone knows if Cynthia P. will be skating in Junior or Senior this year? It would appear by her JGP results and her summer comp. results that she could easily step up to the Senior Level.

Cynthia was only 13 years old at Canadians this year, so my guess is she'll probably stay at the junior level this year--she'd have tons of competition for the national title at the senior level (Jennifer, Annie, Nicole, Marianne, etc.) and she wouldn't be old enough to qualify for senior worlds anyway.

Cynthia didn't even attempt a 3-flip or a 3-lutz at Canadians, if I remember correctly, so the fact she's trying both those jumps now is a very encouraging sign! :)

From the JGP reports I've read, she sounds like she has very good presentation.

Cynthia's on my list of skaters to watch. She is definitely on the upward track and I look forward to watching her career. She has so much pizzaz. If you put Cynthia and Jeff Buttle on the ice together, they would be incandescent!

Now if only I could remember how to spell her last name!
