Sports Illustrated is reporting that Kimmie Meissner will be training with Richard Callaghan for the next six weeks, through Worlds. Hope it helps her skate clean!

Yahoo News has a more ... colorful ... take on the coaching situation.

ETA: Another story, this one from the LA Times: http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-spw-hersh5feb05,1,319617.story?track=rss

She's staying in Coral Springs, Florida to train with Callaghan. That should be a treat for the local skaters.
(No sarcasm intended.)

I think this is a great move for Kimmie. Out on her own with only skating to focus on is a good choice at this time IMHO. Callaghan has done wonders for Leslie Hawker and I believe had a big part in Arakawa's success.

A skatemom I know just emailed me to tell me her skater was on the ice yesterday with Kimmie. She said Kimmie was nice and all the girls got off so Kimmie could do her LP run though. She also said her rink was getting Todd Eldredge when he was done with SIO.
Hope it works out for her !!!

Awww. Glad her new rinkmates are supportive of Kimmie's situation and are making her feel at home.
She does only have a few weeks to work on the programs, so it's nice they gave her empty ice.

Re: "getting Todd Eldredge" - that sounds almost naughty. lol

I read the artical, and it says she's struggling. Is she...ok? I hope she doesn't plan to retire anytime soon. BTW. it didn't say if she will be back with Pam in the future. Can anyone confurm this?

I believe she had an ankle injury this season, which may account for some of her pitfalls this season, but all the interviews I've seen from her she says that the poor performance at nationals was entirely mental.

The article says this coach change is for 6 weeks. So for now, it sounds temporary, but until that time period is over, I don't think there is anyway to know.

That is what they were told at the rink as well. A trial run till worlds.

Does that mean her performence was effected from the inside? In either way,the poor girl. I hope she get's better and improves. Someone please keep us posted on her. As she's such a talented and addorible skater.
