Say,we know people learn to skate for fun like I do. But does anyone know if it's possible to learn to skate Pairs or Dance just for fun? As well as competition? Just wondering.

It's definitely possible.

I don't know about pairs, but ice-dancing is very often done for fun. At our rink we have "social ice-dance" sessions where we go and dance with different people. They play all of the ice-dance music and we trade partners or do the dances solo. It is fun.

These are the "compulsory dances" that don't get shown on TV very often. There are Waltzes, Foxtrots, Tangos and Marches, among others. The steps are always the same, although some people do them differently -so it's fun to exchange tips and styles.

As far as pairs - we used to do girl-girl pairs when I was a kid - mostly side-by-side jumps and spins and a few things that we could do together - no lifts or throws or pairs spins - for exhibition programs and club shows and things like that.
