Post a link to your fav skating program on youtube. This will be a fun way to enjoy some skaters past and present.

My fav is Robin Cousins "Satin Takes a Holiday". Love the music and footwork.

Here's some of my favorites by discipline...

Synchro:
Team Surpise at the 2007 World Championships - http://youtube.com/watch?v=5HPfk1dIEuM
I mean, wow! Can't you just feel the excitement and teamwork? Their speed, presentation, energy, and technical elements are just amazing! So inspirational. It's no wonder Team Surprise is the best in the world!

Miami University at the 2007 World Championships -http://youtube.com/watch?v=IIkBs9DHZEw&feature=related
My favorite US team! I think this video proves that the US is really holding their own in this discipline. Great musical interpretation, speed, and overall technically precise. I especially love their footwork in the circle. Oh, and check out their travelling circle! 8O

Dance:
Belbin & Agosto's 2007 Country and Folk orignial dance - http://youtube.com/watch?v=EiazVFEVh2U&feature=related
Just an all-around fun program by my favorite dance team. Cute with great speed and expression.

Belbin and Agosto's 2006 Compulsory Dance to the Golden Waltz - http://youtube.com/watch?v=XSA-ye9A-7Y
So elegant, beautiful, fast, and precise. Great timing and expression. Classic and timeless!

Pairs:
Ina and Zimmerman at 2006 Fashion on Ice show - http://youtube.com/watch?v=GtRhrrQCpZ8&feature=related
Oh, the throws! Two of the nicest skaters I've ever met and truly talented.

Men:
Kurt Browning at the 2006 Ice Wars - http://youtube.com/watch?v=D0pol1GbrCc
Freakin' awesome footwork! He is a skating god. I love how he just busts out that triple toe and then just cooly stands there and shakes it. LOL, he's unmatched.

Scott Hamilton's 1995 "Hair" Program - http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZNszIDn-Fis
The outfit, the hair, that backflip (which is later replayed in slow-mo), and three 6.0's! I love it...now if only I could have found his other favorite program of mine, where he has those big puffy sleeves and light-up pants...anyone else have any luck?
Ladies:
Sasha Cohen's SP at the 2004 Worlds - http://youtube.com/watch?v=qd5KFGp8O2g
Skating to Malaguena, Sasha Cohen (who can be sometimes inconsistent) really proves herself. I think this video is so inspirational - her expression, extenstion, spins, jumps, everything!

Tara Lipinski's 98 Olympic SP - http://youtube.com/watch?v=dInZE5B9Epc&feature=related
What a shame she's no longer competing. I loved Tara. I can still remember sitting at home at thirteen years old watching this. Just look at that face after her triple flip (such joy). Seriously, is this not what every little girls' dreams are made of?

Katarina Witt - Carmen

This will always be my favorite because it just made skating for me when I was younger. I wanted to be Katarina Witt!

And, cliche as it is, Kimmie's Worlds LP, because it was one of the performances that inspired me most.

Silverstein/Pekarek - 2000 US Nationals FD - Tori Amos/Great Expectations

Ryan Jahnke - 2004 Four Continents FS - Brazilian

Another I was privileged to see live.

Kurt Browning - 1998 CSOI - Antares
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGy-scUXONw
Featuring a quad, but what really makes me swoon was the landing of the double axel.

Stephanie Stiegler/John Zimmerman - 1997 US Nationals - Sorcerer's Apprentice

My favorite of the past few years is Kim Navarro and Brent Bommentre's FD from 2 seasons ago to a Michael Buble medley... I don't have a very good technical eye for ice dance, but this program is just plain entertaining and FUN!! Enjoy!

I am a big fan of Daisuke Takahashi's Hip-Hop Swan lake!!! Being that hip-hop is in my blood, I have always wanted to pursue a way of fusing a competitive figure skating program with hip-hop. Seeing Daisuke do his thing was nothing short of amazing.

http://www.megavideo.com/?v=QIU6ZNER

Also Johnny Weir's, "The Swan" program is just classic. Watching him skate this program at the olympics is what prompted me to start skating in the first place.

That's more funny than it is anything else. Dude is wearing a body suit and speedo's. It's kinda hard to take this even remotely seriously. But I'm a guy. This program was clearly intended for the ladies. But I'm pretty sure a lot of ladies were laughing at him too. He gets props for having the guts to do that out there, but I couldn't watch the last half of it I was laughing so hard.

I knew someone would beat me to it, LOL! I second this one!
I also second Daisuke Takahashi's current SP, the hip hop version of Swan Lake. It is the definitive program of the 2008 season!

For pairs, there are a lot of great ones, but being rather partial to His Hotness, I find this one to be very memorable. . .

Not to mention the fact that he had to skate on at least a half inch of water and his coat was so full of water they had to keep taking it off and wringing it out because it got so heavy. I heard it took 10 hours to film that program because the ice kept melting. They had to stop, clear it and re-freeze it every 10 minutes.

Unfortunately, because of the pouring rain (which was done with warm water so Kurt wouldn't freeze), they had to keep doing that anyway!

It was brilliant. Love that one! As for skating in the rain I would imagine a refridgeration system would have to be in place otherwise the ice underneath would be very soft.

My favorite program is P.Wylie's On The Waterfront. That's a masterpiece.

I like and recommend watching Sasha Cohen's 2004 Masters Figure Skating LP on YouTube or Ask Jeeves. Even though she pops her first jump (a loop or salchow), the music is quite nice. Her pink dress is also nice too! Have you also seen Malaguena (Sasha skating to that)? Robin Wagner is her coach at the time but she just nails the programme.:D

It is this particular version of East of Eden at the Pro-Am that I am most fond of. I found it to be a magical performance and that split falling leaf left me speechless.

I also love Kurt Browning's Singing in the Rain, because he did such a fantastic job, and because I love the movie as much as he does. He was a big fan of Gene Kelly, if I recall correctly.

And how could I forget Kurt's long program from 1994. An Olympic medal was not meant to be for Kurt Browning. In today's scoring system, he may have made the comeback from his short program. In 94, he went from 12th to 5th with a remarkable long program to Casablanca.

this is a vid of Caroline Zhang.. I always wanted to land some composing on a program and this is as close as I get. I did one for Marai Nagasu and Yuna Kim too. There is one more vid for Alexi Yagudin, but it is just a jump clip.

Would be great to customize for a whole program and get it in the olympics.

I really think one of these three is going to get the women's Gold. We'll see.

I can tell you have a Russian bias. Meh, not for me.

I absolutely love Daisuke Takahashi's hip-hop Swan Lake short program. Hope it didn't cause his injury that made him miss an entire season.

Just for EMZ's entertainment, I chose the version with the Russian announcers, lol.
I think I might start watching those versions more often - they don't blather on through the programs, talking about nothing important.
