View Full Version : US Novice Pairs Teams
Hi
Anyone have any additions/corrections to the list of novice pars teams competing at regionals this year? Here's what I know (think I know) to date:
SA
Namiotka/Merritt
Jordan/Carret (did they stay novice?)
Seitz/Seitz (I heard they moved to FL?)
NA
Krein/Jorgens
NE
Vlassov/Meekins
UGL
???
EGL
Skavdahl/Davis
Glassberg/Hanson
Best/Best
SW
Smith/Chitwood
Schmidt/Pottenger
Gadbury/Hess (maybe compete in SWP?)
CP
???
NWP
Miller/Hess
SWP
Butler/Jacobson
Miller/Benton
Tossey/Judt
Thomas/Al-Zubi
Have Ulig/Loomis moved up to JR or stayed Novice?
Thanks!

I imagine all the novice pairs have to skate at Regionals since none have competition byes (unless they have an injury bye).
Katz/Lynch- North Atlantics?
Settelen/Haskins- South Atlantics?
Eison/Eison- North Atlantics???
I think the second SA team you are referring to is actually spelled Jordan/Barrett, and I am not sure if they are novice or junior this year.

New England has two pairs according to the schedule, but no one seems to know who the other pair is.
What happens if there is only one pair in a region? Are they required to skate an exhibition?

Alexandra Gadbury and Nathan Hess (7th Intermediate, SW) have split, up and Mariel Miller and Nathan Hess will be skating out of the NWP Regional.
They were 5th or 6th at Indy I believe, because of problems with elements, but have fixed those up AFAIK, David Aretz who Mariel finished 13th as a Novice with at Nationals last year has quit skating....

Is this the same Rhea Sy who use to skate in the states and then skated for canada, winning a medal at jr. canadians one year with one triple (during the downfall of cdn ladies skating, hehe) and is now back in the states and now doing pairs?

I belive Alexandea Gadbury is now skating with Derek Hess in SWP. So actually, I think there are two Hess' amd two Millers skating novice pairs:
Mariel Miller / Nathan Hess NWP
Britta Miller / Greg Benton SWP
Alexandra Gadbury / Derek Hess SWP
... confusing?

I believe so. And just to add to the confusion, wasn't Benny Wu going to be representing Taipei (?) at some point?
