Congratulations to McLaughlin/Brubaker and Miller/Moram for winning the silver and bronze medals respectively! This was the first Grand Prix medal for both of them, I believe. In fact, this was McLauglin/Brubaker's first Senior Grand Prix event, since they were competing on the Junior Grand Prix last year and are the current Junior World Champions.

Having said that, this pairs field was ridiculously weak. M/B's silver-medal skate here would likely have placed 4th at Skate America and 5th at Skate Canada, and M/M's bronze-medal skate would likely have placed 5th at Skate America and dead last at Skate Canada.

Nevertheless, competitors take the opportunities they are offered and run with them, and that's what these two pairs did. Good for them.
