I found this on youtube and thought it was really interesting. It goes through the steps of preparing a professional hockey rink for use.

Wow quiet interesting though I still would like to know how the most modern ice rinks are build because the ice is only 11/2 INCHES...on the new equippment.... no more 4inches or more...means lesswater... less time to get ready and more environmental correctly because it requires less energy and uses less water... the liquid that freezes run thru pipes that can be rolled over ....Ive seen the equipment...but Iwish Icould see how they buildthe ice with this new technology. If you guys can the clip.. PLEASE, ,,pm ME.;I thank you in advance.

Interesting. The only rink I was that familiar with had sand underneath, not concrete, though.
