From the 10/4/2007 Chicago Tribune:

After nearly two decades as highly competitive, occasionally bitter rivals, owners of the figure skating tours Champions on Ice and Stars on Ice are discussing a merger because each is struggling to survive on its own, according to Tribune sources. more ...

The full story goes on to say that the companies involved deny any merger plans. (That makes it even more likely IMO.)

So, is there going to be one tour or two? LOL, that article just confused me, but maybe it's because I haven't had any caffeine yet this morning...

I'm not sure. As I haven't heard anything. But it sounds at least like a good idea. As long as that won't effect ticket prices. Who knows. People may even get to see more skaters in a Show,and it might become more exciting.
