I haven't written a full review yet but will answer some of the questions that have been asked.

I was shocked when Kristi came out with her short haircut. At first I wondered who is that? Her hair is the same length as it is in the photo posted on the other thread re: Scott's engaged. However, it's more of a bob and layered alot. If you've seen Oprah's new cut it's similar in style to that. Kristi looks really cute with the new cut and it's a sophisticated look for her.

Kristi skated to "Satisfaction" wearing a wine colored shiny outfit. Slacks and a perky little top with spaghetti straps and the lower back bare. She was all smiles and skated great!

Tiffany & John Stiegler were very impressive skating to a song I believe is called "Abraxis?" It was the first time I've seen them in person and was amazed on the talent & showmanship these two share.

Katia was a special treat since we've been without her skating for awhile. She skated to an upbeat song possibly titled "It's Paradise" She wore an orange velvet dress with the back open with ties. Hard to describe what that style is. But she appeared to be in excellent shape and only bobbled on a couple jumps. She's a beautiful skater and my favorite move is her spiral slide.

Ilia was the biggest crowd pleaser of the night. Well, besides Scott. Ilia came out & stood next to Scott at center ice. Scott told him to "Blow the roof off this place." And Ilia did just that skating to "Pick up the pieces" His triples were powerful & soared, his footwork was so fast & got the crowd going and I love the height this guy gets on his flying camels. Ilia received thunderous applause and was very appreciative. Oh and I am so glad to see he let his hair grow back....his hair is gorgeous!!! Scott's reply to Ilia's skate...."AWESOME JUST AWESOME!"

I'll add some more impressions...

Renee Roca and Gorsha Sur did two amazing numbers. They did their Maria number - I have seen it before in person, and it is still just as impressive as the first time. Their second number was their number from the Olympic closing ceremonies. Their flow and emotion always leaves me breathless.

Yuka and Jason look so much better (not that they weren't good before). I think that Yuka surprised Jason by switching a throw double into a throw triple. It was huge and easy.

On the Steigler's - I think that program will be their short program for the season. It had all the required elements for a short.

Josef Sabovcik was a real treat. It's so seldom that you get the chance to see him live at a show. His jump height is tremendous. And of course he wow'ed the crowd with a back flip.

The biggest surprise of the evening was that Scott proposed to his girlriend as a surprise. Naturally, she said YES. Even the other skaters were surprised and were congratulating the two of them.

Thank you Ice Queen for the great review! :)

When I first saw Kristi's new haircut a few months ago...I really didn't like it, but I'm warming up to the look.

Here's a couple more links to see Kristi's haircut:

Honolulu Star Bulletin link 1 (http://starbulletin.com/2002/08/11/news/story8.html)

Honolulu Star Bulletin link 2 (http://starbulletin.com/2002/08/08/news/wild.html)

And I loved Ilia's Pick Up the Pieces...it was so fun...especially live. It was my favorite SOI number of his last year. I'm really going to miss him this year at SOI (and Kristi, too, of course, which goes without saying!) ;)

Hi. Great review. So what did Scott skate to? Any more info on what skaters skated to? This is first review I've seen of this show. All I keep reading bout is that Scott's engaged, nothing bout the skating. Did anyone go to this in person?

I did write a review on this show and it's fairly long. So, it will be posted on the only site for Scott Hamilton: http://members.aol.com/Revjoelle/index.html

It's not on their yet but I'm told it will be very soon.

Scott skated to "Double Bogie Blues" the comical routine with the golf theme. Towards the end of the show he skated to "One more look at you." with Gary Morris singing it live.

There also was a dinner party after the show at a downtown hotel. They do this every year and guests are able to mingle with the skaters. It's very pricey since this is a charity event. I didn't attend the dinner party only the show.

Thanks for the info, IceQueen! Was the review too long to be posted here then? I mean that on this forum we could have discussed it or asked questions.

The review is quite long and I didn't want to take up lots of space here on this forum. It should be posted soon on the website for Scott.
