I attended "An evening with Scott Hamilton & Friends on Ice" today. The show was GREAT!
At the end of the show Scott was introducing special people in his life & thanking them. He introduced his girlfriend Tracy Robinson and said "I really need to marry this girl" And sure enough she said yes! Scott was beaming with joy and the audience was cheering.
All the skaters looked good and Kristi looks much different with a new short hair cut. It was great to see Ekaterina and she looked beautiful and in good shape. The rest of the cast consisted of Ilia, Roz, Jozef Sabovcik, Sato & Dungjen, Roca & Sur, the Stieglers and singer Gary Morris.

Thanks for the news!
Did anyone skate new programs? I'd be very interested in knowing what everyone skated to...especially Kristi! :D

Wow, I'm certainly pleasantly shocked to read this news--sounds like Scott borrowed a little proposal tip out of Kurt's book. ;) Congratulations to Scott and his new fiancée--does anyone know any other information about her?
There are two shows scheduled for this season titled "Scott Hamilton and Friends"--one will be televised on NBC, the other won't. Unfortunately, I think this is the show that won't be televised.

If he's really serious, I'd say It's about time. Hasn't he been with this girlfriend for about 15 years or more? He's been talking about having a family for years too.

i've always questioned public marriage proposals. i mean, when hundreds of people are watching, what answer other than "yes" is going to be given?

Scott was dating Karen Plage for about 10 years, but they broke up a couple of years ago. So this is a different woman.

This is great news for Scott. I was especially interested in hearing that the Steiglers were part of the show.

Ice Queen, can you describe Kristi's new hair cut? I can't imagine her with anything but long hair.

Wait Stop!! The Steiglers or Johnny and his new partner - what's up with that???
And Yes - pls, infor on Kristi's haircut
I tend to agree Duane - the public marriage proposals always make me groan a bit 8) - I mean why would you do that to your sig. other without their permission 8O ...g

Re: Kristi's hair - I don't know she has changed it again, but when I saw her in Nottingham it was just shorter than shoulder length IIRC, like a bob.

Here's another review telling more about the show itself (sorry if this should belong in the "Show Reviews" board instead), but it mostly talks about Katia's performance and more details about Scott's proposal:

And here's a photo of Kristi and her new haircut taken during the Nottingham Gala a few months ago (has she cut it even shorter since then?):

As for public marriage proposals, I always found it interesting that Kurt's first thought after he popped the question to Sonia at 1995 Toronto SOI wasn't, "Will she say 'yes?'" but rather, "Oh, no, she's going to kill me!" ;)

In all my excitement to post I forgot to add that Scott did get down on one knee for the proposal. It was really very touching and the whole cast & audience were totally surprised. With Scott marking his 5th year cancer free I think he's literally on top of the world. He's really adament about his quest to find a cure for cancer. As well as helping others that are going through treatment by education & support. The show touched on this by showing a video of the work done at the Taussig center.
I will answer the other questions about the show in the show review section.

In answer to the question on Kristi's new hair cut...
Kristi's haircut is a flip. She had it curly on the ends for the show and pinned back over the ears. It looked so cute.

Forgive me, but how totally Scott Hamilton--even his marriage proposal is a big show in front of an audience.
I'll smack myself now and wish him and his bride the best. Good for them.

I personally don't see anything wrong with a public marriage proposal.. these days it seems that people actually discuss marriage before the question is asked, so usually the man has a pretty good idea that the woman is going to say yes. I can't see any man putting themselves through possible embarrassment is they think there is a chance the woman will say no.
Congrats to Scotty!! :)

Yes, well I'd say he'd have to be pretty sure of himself! It is a bit gauche IMO to propose in public like that, but different strokes for different folks as the saying goes!
Well, I am happy for them. I too was confused as I'd heard he was engaged before. So, this is a different gal! Anyway, very nice!

I am very happy for the both of them. I can understand her being on "Cloud 9" because when my fiance proposed to me this past Valentine's Day, I was on "Cloud 9" for days on end, and I still am. I wish them all the best for the future to come, and many years of complete happiness.
All the best and cheers to the both of them.
CONGRATS!!!!!
