View Full Version : Alice Graham's skates stolen!
A van, containing Alice Graham's skates, was stolen in Montreal yesterday. Alice skates with Eric Neumann-Aubichon and they are scheduled to compete at the Jr. GP in Montreal next week. If the skates aren't returned, she'll have to use her old freestyle skates!!!
Here's a brief story on it:
Thief nabs skater's custom-made skates (http://www.canada.com/montreal/story.asp?id=4A6D5E73-6DDC-4ADC-BEEA-A489F2B75538)
Here's hoping she gets them back!
(Edited to fix a typo that was bugging me...)
Oh, that really BITES!!!! I sure hope she gets those skates back!

:( That is really sad. People who steal make me mad, especially if they are stealing ice skates! I hope the thieves are caught and imprisoned for life! :p:twisted:

Oh man that sucks.
why on earth would someone steal ice skates?
I doubt they were interested in the skates -- the van was stolen and probably not because there were skates in them. Most people wouldn't know a good pair of skates from a Canuck Tire pair if they were hit over the head with them.
There was a girl in Edmonton several years back who also lost skates when then the vehicle was stolen. I'm not sure that she ever got them back.

Also, there are plenty of skaters, skate parents, coaches, and what not who would stoop to stealing skates, slashing costumes, and all kinds of things to hurt a competitor's chances. I'm not saying that is the reason the van was stolen, but that's a reason why someone would steal skates.

That bites. :( I'm very sorry for Alice and Eric, especially being from Montreal. Hopefully the van can be found, or there's *some* way for her to have better skates...
Imo, could you let us know the rest of the story from today's Gazette? I don't think it's online.
For those who get the Montreal Gazette, the complete story (and a good photo) is on page A6.
On-line, you can find the Updated Story Here (http://www.canada.com/search/site/story.asp?id=9027164A-2575-4067-BED0-5B0340E4681E)
