LA Times Article (http://www.latimes.com/sports/olympics/la-sp-olycol16sep16.column?coll=la%2Dheadlines%2Dsports% 2Dolympics)

Its a little ways down but details what Frank has been up to. Angela has improved, and he chose not to coach YeBin full time she he already has Angela (sounds like he doesn't want any conflicts of interest coaching two Nationals level senior ladies at the same time). Timmy is having some troubles it seems - tired, drained from COI, and a little frustrated right now.

LA Times requires too much information for me to feel comfortable registering there.

It is true that Frank Carroll doesn't like to have more than one nationally ranked lady at any one time. Angela Nikodinov's family inquired about having him coach her several years ago, but at the time he had Michelle and told them no.

HELP!! I am retarded! I have spent the last 25 minutes at the LA Times site, looking for the article, and I can't find it!

I did find this really neat thingie about how figure skating is judged, with flash graphics, and all kinds of info!

Thanks Adrian. I had login problems at LA Times (I have been registered there for a long time), so by the time I got that straightened out, I was at the site, not through your link, and I had a lovely, if frustrating tour of LA. Thanks for the link. The article was great!

If you don't want to give out all that information when you register....don't! Whenever I register for passwords on sites that I feel get a little too grabby for information, I simply lie. Just give a fake name, phone number, address/zip code.....whatever you don't feel comfortable giving out. With the right tweaking, you'll still get your password (have them send it to a free email account like Yahoo or Netscape), and they'll never know the difference. :D

Thanks for the link, adrian!

Thanks for the link, Adrian! I'll tell a little more for those of you not signed up...

Frank mentions that Tim expects a lot out of himself and is "not a lot of fun to be around right now";) b/c not everything is going perfectly after his long time touring. I think Frank says that Tim is frustrated or something and that his Lori programs are currently "a work in progress."

Frank also says that Danielle (who made me notice her in her Nationals ex.) is like a young MK in her room for maturation at this point, but that he doesn't know yet where her career will go. She does, however, have MK's goals and drive or something along those lines. He seems to think highly of her.

They mention Angela's shoulder troubles but Frank says he's "very very happy" with her skating, that the two of them work well together, and that "she's skating magnificently." Frank says she's more consistent and in much better shape. They've worked on not giving up when she misses an element and continuing to do the jumps/program or something like that.

They also talk about Yebin's finishing 10th last year and Angela's also being top-10 and how that would make it unfair if he would've coached both full-time. They say Yebin had a growth spurt over the last few seasons...apparently, it's not as much of an issue anymore.

Good article:).

YES, YES, YES  I hope the world will see a mentally tougher Angela this year. She's too good a skater to not win some major competitions.

This is great news! With Michelle presumably not competing this year, I wll be cheering for Angela and her mature beauty on the ice to win out over the jumping show Sarah is sure to put on and Sasha's human pretzel act. ;)
