I heard somewhere that he was injured (stress fracture to the hip). Is he competing in the Grand Prix?? Is he on tour?? What is he up to??
Maybe this has been discussed already, but I have been out of the loop for awhile.

I read a post on another board saying he's rehearsing in Simsbury with the rest of the SOI cast right now...

He had an injury, stress fracture on the hip, during COI and had to miss the last 11 shows. He went home and rest, vacation in Florida and went back on ice in September. He recently performed in a charity show this past weekend and debuted his new SP. He will compete in two grand prix - Skate America and Skate Canada. He's currently in rehearsals with SOI in Simsbury, CT, for the next 3 weeks. He'll tour with SOI at the end of December. He will not compete in Europeans and Worlds in the upcoming skating season.

Hope this help,
Deborah

Didn't the article about TT say he was going to do Worlds and Europeans?

From one Deborah to another Deborah - this comment is in no way directed at you, and the information you provided.

I think we need some kind of system to evaluate information. Kinda like the gov. does with "credible threats" We could have
INTERESTING GOSSIP
GOOD SOURCES
PROBABLY TRUE - SKATES AT THE RINK WITH THIS SKATER
REALLY TRUE - SKATING INSIDER

So, what do you think? Am I on to something here?:P

PS My apologies - I dont have my computer glasses - and I can't really see what I have typed - I hope it is not too bad

I still have the interview Tatiana T. gave back in July and she said he's NOT doing Europeans and Worlds. Grand Prix Finals - maybe, but now it's probably "no" because I looked at the SOI schedule, there's no way he can do it, he's not SUPERMAN!:D

The confusion was about a month ago, someone read an AOL article in the German board and quoted Yagudin said he plan to do Europeans and Worlds and that quoted show up again the current BOI website.

I guess we shall see....

Hi! What is the "German Board" referred to here?
What is it called, and what is the URL to it please.
Thanks! :)

Alexei is scheduled for all dates of the Stars on Ice 2002/2003 tour. The information in that German article that he would be doing Euros and Worlds was incorrect, and that has been confirmed in writing by IMG and SOI. And neither of those events are listed on Alexei's official schedule.

Thanks, Laurie! :)
I was also wondering about that information about a German figure skating board.
Does anyone know what that is about--whether there actually is a board in German on figure skating? (I used to live in Germany, and sometimes get homesick"--LOL)
If you know about it, do you have the URL please? :)
Thanks very much! :D

Marti, I'm not sure which German board is being referred to in this thread, but I do know Iris (a German poster on my board) has her own German board - it could be that one. I don't know the link, though, but you might ask her about it.

Alexei IS doing Worlds and Eurpoeans.
I read on SkateForum (http://www.skatinginc.com/SkateForum ) that his SP is "Crazy Benny" by Safri Duo, which Canadians would surely recognize as Emanuel Sandhu's SP music from last year. The amount of footwork that program could have just.... boggles the mind!!!

Hi Sweetie,

I clicked on the link you provided, which thread exactly said that, I couldn't find it. As for his new SP, I did say he's doing SA & SC.

Alexei says he's completely recovered, and Louise was at two of the SOI rehearsals in Simsbury last week and saw no sign of injury or that he was favoring any injury. She reported that she didn't see him do any quads, but all his triples were beautiful.

Sweetie, there is no mention in the link you posted that Alexei is doing Euros and Worlds - it was Tony's list of all the new music for this coming season (and what a comprehensive list, LOL!). Alexei has been saying since Worlds in Nagano that he would be doing Skate America and Skate Canada (and he's officially confirmed for both those events), and that's what his new short program is for, although I suspect he will also adapt it to SOI for one of his cold spots. In any case, though, IMG is stating that Alexei is scheduled for every date of the SOI tour, which would make it physically impossible for him to do Euros and Worlds as the dates conflict. We haven't figured out how to clone him yet. ;)
