tell me about not feeling ready. I've been trying to have run throughs as of late but it seems the kids come first. And the other problem is that the kids seem to be everywhere where I go in my program and I have had to omit jumps, parts of my spiral sequence and sometimes a spin so that I won't hit them. How are you suppose to feel ready under those conditions. Another thing is that my coach has been sick for two weeks with the virus of death. I'm now force to go to another rink to ask my former coach for a lesson because he's not allowed to coach at my rink just so I can get some help with my jumps and freeskate. My interpretive is looking good though.

I don't know. It's making me feel like I am going to have to start thinking about changing clubs just so that I can get my old coach back. He doesn't get sick that much because he's younger. My current coach is in his 70's. I hope he gets well soon but I'm not counting on that before Adult Canadians. Only problem is that I really do like the people at my club. It's just hard. Maybe what I'll do for next fall is get my membership through my current club but then buy ice twice a week at another club to get my lessons. There are clubs that offer partials.

Well Brigitte, you could do what I do and skate at multiple clubs - LOL!

1 December I changed coaches, home clubs, and added 2 morning sessions at a rink with "competitive skaters" (all Star Skate) and they are GREAT! They are leagues ahead of me in skill but they respect what I am trying to do. When ANYBODY starts their program, everybody else clears the way - so UNlike skating with youngsters!

Yes, the Adult Championship is coming FAST but I was just thinking yesterday that I wished I was leaving THIS weekend instead of next! I am as ready as I am going to be and the longer I wait, the more nervous I get !

Nine days to departure! 13 days to competition 8O

OH HOW TRUE! For me it will be the end of a year of skating my a## off, four months of getting up before 4 a.m. five days a week - I don't remember what it is like NOT to be tired and achy! LOL! But in a little over a year I have gone from not being able to stand up on the ice to having a program that I am proud of. Now, as long as I can pull it all together for two and a half minutes in Calgary . . . .

You'll be fine, Raye. Is there a jacuzzi in your hotel??? ;)

Have fun, that's the main thing. And will I see you this year at the Mountain Cup? Do try to persuade yet more people to sign up - closing date isn't until 1 April, so there will be time.

I'm going to Calgary to watch RustyBlades competititve debut!

I'm also competing. The time has snuck up also on me, my coach said wasn't the event in April and I said no, I have five club ice days left. Panic time!!! I'm still figuring out choreography.

I skate in a couple of clubs, some I get lessons, some is just ice time.

Raye! I've seen you skate and if you have improved from that alone, you'll do a http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/images/smilies/kickass1.gifjob at CAN!!! :D And please say hello to Denis for me and let him know I'm cheering for him too!!! (Are you two doing a dance comp together by any chance? I have no idea who's competing there, since I don't even have the website for the comp even. :?? )

Good luck to Rusty Blades and everyone else that's competing at CAN!!!

If it's any consolation, everyone else is in the same boat! I guarantee you they have all been pushing themselves to exhaustion and nobody else is feeling ready, either. At my big competition last weekend I was suddenly hit by that realization when I saw that NOBODY skated a clean program! I feel so much better now, LOL! Good luck!! all the work WILL pay off and you'll do just fine! :D

Our love to him, please, and tell him we hope to see him at the MC again this year.

I am staying with Denis and Sophie. I didn't ask if they have a jacuzzi... lol

I will pass on everyone's greetings and hugs to them.

Haven't decided about the Mountain Cup yet. DD is graduating the weekend before and we are talking about a family trip. She is the youngest of the lot and probably this will be the last opportunity for an all-family holiday....
