In this post, I will mention about how I learned the school I work at has cameras in the halls. The day ends at 2:55, but the kids all leave at 2:45. Anyway, 2:55, the building becomes deserted as all the teachers leave. The bell had already rang signaling the end of the day, and I was a little late coming up to get my stuff so I wasn't a part of the herd running down the stairs. I get to the third floor where I keep my stuff, and I figure I'll use the rest room before I go. The hallway is empty, nobody's there, I figure what the hey. The bathroom was at hte end of the hall, so I did some small waltz jumps to the bathroom. Next day, the AP kind of very nicely asked me what I was doing in the hallway. So I sheepishly replied I was doing some off ice waltz jumps. She replied that she thought I must have just been really excited the day was over. She wasn't mad, just thoguht it was really funny. But I learned my lesson. Never do waltz jumps in the hallways.

Or better yet, do really HUGE jumps and give them something to talk about!

Great story! I work with computers, and one night a few years ago there were 5 of us who came in at 5 pm Saturday to babysit an install, and had to stay until 9 am Sunday morning. Anyway, around 2 am, things were slow and we had been drinking waaaayy too much caffeine. One of the guys wanted to think he knew about skating, so he asked me to teach him a waltz jump - okay, all five of us spent the next hour doing off-ice waltz jumps! I still have not heard the end of that..... but it was fun and kept us awake.

ROFL!:)

I've heard confessions about swing roll practise in lifts, mohawks behind the counter, spiral practise at the photocopier...and axel practise while walking the dogs.

Me? Well in addition to practising double threes and backspins on my kitchen floor, I do jumps in the living room and have been caught practising layback positions in the bedroom.

And not to mention the time I got caught doing a Salchow in the Ladies' bathroom at work:oops:

I live in an apartment. When my husband works out in the morning, our neighbors downstairs often complain. So once I woke up at three in the morning because I had to use the bathroom. My husband woke up and said angrily, "Don't even think of practicing your waltz jumps on the floor! You'll wake up the neighbors!" It was funny because I do practice jumps on the floor, but not at three in the morning!

Of course, at the Mountain Cup, jumps and pairs/dance lifts off-ice and at-parties is usually pretty much the rule, rather than the exception. I am not sure whether the lifts work better when one is sober.....
