The photo printed in TV Week was obviously taken at the same time as the photo, but in the TV Week photo, she was smiling and looked to be pretty pleased with herself (go figure). I don't know what event it was she was attending, but her skin in the TV Week photo looked really red and awful. The comment in the story was that someone should have supervised her chemical peel.

I don't like that stuff, but I will never forget seeing Linda Ronstadt at the Longshoremen's Hall in San Francisco back in the late 1960s in a gorgeous, thrift store slip. It was a benefit, and usually there was nothing special about the bands.

That was the first time I ever saw/heard her, and believe me, there was no doubt she was amazing (for her voice). At the time, I just thought the girl wanted something elegant for performance and was so poor she used a slip.

P.S. The slip clearly was of very high quality, probably belonged to a very rich person.

I'm not criticizing her, but this wasn't a paparazzi long-lens picture - Oksana willingly posed for the camera. IMHO I think the outfit she's wearing is ugly and I think she looks really embarrassed/uncomfortable. I really do hope she gets lots of $$$ for the photo. I don't think I was criticizing. No one called her a trashy name for posing in those clothes. No one complimented her fashion sense, either.

Why would it be ok for Madonna? I didn't get that reference, but I'm not a fan of hers. Did she dress like that - I never went to her concerts or watched her videos. (No interest) I'd take Linda Ronstadt over Madonna any day, Linda does have a wonderful voice and is a great entertainer in her own right.

As for the slip dress look, it was all the rage back then and designers occasionally trot it out to the runway now and then. Given the designer "ripped jeans" look, I never assume anything a celeb wears is cheap. They pay big bucks for new "vintage" clothes.

I was one of Oksana's biggest fans for YEARS! I just get tired of her coming across as a crackw***e. She has too much talent to rely on shock.

As for Madonna, yes, it was a lot better. Madonna did it at Cannes, for publicity, AND she has an amazing body. It was expected.

Oksana is shaped like a 13 year old girl, which is not cute if you are going to dress like a "provocative", scantily clad woman.

I agree. I don't understand why she would put those photos on the main page of her website. It makes it seem like her claim to fame is Playboy model and not Olympic medalist in Figure Skating. If I had kids who were fans of her, I wouldn't feel comfortable allowing them to view her site.
