View Full Version : Angela Injury?
There's a report on MK Forum that Angela was unable to appear in last night's Alexei and Friends benefit show because an injury left her unable to make the flight.
Does anyone have any further details?

Here is her new journal entry:

From what I understand, she wants to rest her shoulder after dislocating it again.
Look under "updates" and there are links to some cute photos of Angela and the STN people (Maria, Elena B., Jen R., Yagudin, Steven, etc.), some Q&A's (working on more than one 3/3), and a diary entry about not letting things get in the way of her goals. I hope she means it...let's go Angela:)! I'm glad to see they're updating her site like this...and I hope she's rarin' to go at NC b/c it looks like we might not see her until then. Oh, and her hair looks nice:).

It sounds like Frank has been a positive influence - good for her! :)

What I heard at the show last night was that Angela broke her ankle. They actually announced at the show she did have a leg injury.

I *really* hope you're wrong about that Stormy. Ankle fractures *hurt* and can be hard to heal quickly. If that is right.....Is the only kind of luck Angela has bad!?! I hope this is just a rumour and if it isn't, she bounces back quickly from it.

Well, Angela says in her journal entry that she hurt her shoulder. She mentioned nothing about an ankle. I mean, anything is possible, but are you suggesting that she has 2 injuries (ankle AND shoulder) or that she lied about the type of injury she had in her journal? Yikes!

Loved reading the journal entry - except for the part about the injury!
Does anyone know Angela? I hope she is doing pilates under the guidance of a trained instructure. That is THE BEST way to strengthen the structures around that shoulder. Going to the gym could be a really bad idea, unless she is really lucky with a personal trainer.
I sure hope she has a great season. I just adore her.

Interestingly, I had a med school conference today which had some discussion on dislocated shoulders. They can happen fairly easily because the joint isn't all that firmly secured (to allow for maximum range of movement). My guess is that she tried to break a front fall by outstretching her arm. :( Also, I do hope Angela hasn't suffered nerve damage - the axillary nerve innervates the deltoid muscle and I doubt you could jump without using it!
I do hope she can recover soon, and that the ankle break was a misunderstanding...
