The NY Times sports section had an article today about William Sears, the Novice champion who died so unexpectedly. I'm sure one of those people who know how to post links will do so.

The article portrays him as a multi-gifted and much loved young man. The cause of his death remains unknown (more tests are being run to find out).

Perhaps the saddest detail is that his high school prom date had been Joanna Glick.

The article is by Jere Longman and Amy Rosewater.

This whole thing really stinks. It's too bad such a nice guy had to be taken away from us. He'll truley be missed.

Sad for us indeed and very hard for the family and friends to deal with. This young man sounded like a wonderful person with a compassonate heart. I am sure that he has moved closer to God and instead of feeling grief over something that has ended we must look at what has begun for him in his new life with the creator. We must celebrate what he accomplished here and be thankful for those wonderful moments that he gave to all. His spirit will be with us always.
