I passed my bronze field moves. No reskates. Had a bad warm up especially on back inside double threes but all was ok

Am posting this from my blackberry so will add more when I return to a real computer!

Thank you! I am very happy.

My warm up was at 5.50am! Whoa. I was very shakey in the warm up and back inside double threes were not good. But for the actual test everything was fine. She had asked a couple of the skaters before me to redo the choctaws and the mohawks. But I didn't get any reskates.

I felt I was making a lot of scraping noises on the FI and FO double threes but I think it wasn't as bad as it sounded in my head! I managed to stay calm and not let the turns go away from me. And I kept the choctaws moving on my bad side.

It was so much less stressful doing it at that rink. Much more relaxed. At my home rink everyone is usually hanging over the barrier watching and is desperate to know what marks everyone gets. Everyone just got on, did their test and left today.

I can't tell you how relieved and happy I am!:D :D :D

Didn't get any real feedback but she said I skated a good test and I had good edges. I got 18.4 and you need 18.0 to pass. Not that the marks mean a whole lot.

New level 7 field moves here I come - I doubt I'll be doing those for a while!!!!

Congratulations! It's soooo gratifying to get marks over. Good for you!

For the US skaters, could you post a quick list of the elements you had to do?

Thank you

Sure here are the moves - although it’s a bit redundant since our moves tests are changing!

But this is what I had to do

FO and FI serpentine double threes
BO double threes in a circle CW & CCW (FO 3, BO double 3, step to forwards, FO3…)
BI double threes in a circle CW & CCW (backcrossover, BI double 3, backcrossover….)
Double mohawk serpentine step (FO closed Mohawk, cross in front, BI 3, cross behind, FI open Mohawk, BO edge, step to FO, repeat on the other foot)
Open Choctaws (open Choctaw FI to BO, crosscut, BO3, open Choctaw…)
FI brackets (chasse, cross behind, FI bracket, BO three, chasse on the other foot……)

WOW well done!

Funny, in the US, Bronze, my level, is a relatively low level and this difficulty of moves is GOLD level for adults!

That is because the UK doesn't have separate adult tests. These are standard UK tests. Lowest level used to be called novice, then prelim, then interbronze, then bronze then intersilver for moves. Intersilver used to be the highest moves. They've now been standardised to levels 1-10 and bronze is the equivalent of level 6.
