Hi,

Im going on an outdoor ice rink today with a few friends with my figure skates.

They were around $700, coronation ace blades and ridell? boots.

Will the ice ruin my skates? I am only going this one and then investing in an old pair for rec. use.

Thanks!

No, the outdoor ice won't ruin your blades. If you skate outdoors a lot, you will need to have your blades sharpened more often. Check the ice ahead of you to avoid any obvious debris that may have blown onto it.

Nope. Be ready for a bumpier surface, though. Right, you may need more sharpenings if you skate outside a lot. I actually keep an old pair for outside, but I've been skating so long, I have a boatload of old skates.
