boot and blade questions

Has anyone skated on the MK Phantom blades? How do you like them? I just bought an Ultima Protege and am hating it-its too wide or something, I can't roll or change edges smoothly-even though i do like the more blade on the ice feel-8 foot rocker. I had a chance at a practically new Phantom blade, so was just wondering what they are like.

Yes I have skated on them for years and years (I am 31, and have skated on them since I was 11). They do not have an 8-ft rocker, they have a 7-ft, so I am not sure if you will like it if you like the larger rocker. I have mine sharpened with a fairly deep radius of hollow 7/16" (I like it deeper but I compromised with my coach, long story LOL!). I am not sure what you mean by your blades "feeling too wide" though -- maybe you need to adjust your radius of hollow to something shallower, like 1/2" ?

I've been on Phantoms for about 9 yrs now and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them. So quiet and fast.
