Thanks for the info!
Do you have any idea what the internet pre-sale password is for this event or where I may find it? I have checked Ticketmaster, Clear Channel (running the event), Olay (sponsor of the event) and the arena. Nobody seems to know any info.
Thanks-

Not a clue, sorry... when I originally posted, the Ticketmaster site just said "Internet presale" so I wasn't sure if there'd be a password or not (there isn't always)... if none of those sources know about the password (they couldn't even tell you who it was for? I was thinking Olay employees or something) then there's really nothing you can do but wait for the general on sale.
On the other hand, it seems no one else knows the password either so the seats should be good  next Monday.

Oh, darn! I was hoping Ice Wars would return to the format they had in 1999 (six singles skaters, a pairs team and a dance team on each side!) I thought more skaters on each team (including ones we didn't get to see very often, like Scott Davis and Tonia K.) made the event even more exciting.
Oh, well--I'm sure this year's event will be interesting just the same and I'm looking forward to seeing what other skaters will be added to the roster this year. After all, this is the only unsanctioned, truly pro competition left in figure skating. :(

Check out the American Open at http://www.amopen.com.
It will be interesting to see Scott Hamilton back in competition this season. I thought he had retired. :( but :) hehe.

Oops, I forgot about the American Open--perhaps because it's not a televised event (at least not on a channel I can actually get!)
Quite an interesting lineup for Ice Wars this year--I was pleasantly surprised to see Maria's (I was under the impression she had no interest in a pro skating career and was only doing commentary in Russia this year) and Scott's names on the list. As far as I know, Scott only officially confirmed his retirement from touring, not competing or appearing in other shows like Scott Hamilton and Friends last week (although it has been awhile since Scott last skated at a competitive event!)
I wonder why Yuka, Philippe and Rudy (three skaters who have appeared in every Ice Wars since 1998) aren't in this year's event...like I said before, it's too bad there can't be more skaters on each team!

Great that Ilia will be there. I believe it is his first time in an Ice Wars team event. Very interesting teams!

Ilia competed at one of the "Team Ice Wars" events in 2000--this event featured teams of two skaters (one male, one female) from various countries competing against each other. Ilia and Katia were teamed up together to represent Russia and were eliminated after the first round (both actually skated pretty well, if I remember correctly--but so did everybody else!) But this is the first time Ilia's competing at an "original" Ice Wars event.

Yay Maria :) I didn't realize she'd be doing any skating again, so I'm now verrry hhhheppy!
Cheers,
