For those who don't know... There are currently nine regional qualifying competitions and three sectional competitions that lead to US Nationals:

2002-2003 SEASON
New England regional, Boxborough, MA -- Oct 1-5, 2002
North Atlantic regional, Monmouth Junction NJ -- Oct 1-5, 2002
South Atlantic regional, York, PA -- Oct 4-12, 2002
Top 4 in the Novice, Junior and Senior level events of each of these 3 Regionals advance to Eastern Sectionals, Nov. 13-16, in Aston, PA.
Eastern Great Lakes regional, Lansing, MI -- Oct 1-5, 2002
Upper Great Lakes regional, Davenport, IA -- Oct 8-12, 2002
Southwestern regional, Overland Park, KS -- Sep 29-Oct-6, 2002
Top 4 in the Novice, Junior and Senior level events of each of these 3 Regionals advance to Midwestern Sectionals, Nov. 13-16, in Franklin, TN.
Southwest Pacific regional, Culver City, CA -- Oct 1-6, 2002
Central Pacific regional, Salt Lake City, UT -- Oct 7-12, 2002
Northwest Pacific regional, Great Falls, MT -- Oct 8-12, 2002
Top 4 in the Novice, Junior and Senior level events of each of these 3 Regionals advance to Pacific Coast Sectionals, Nov. 13-16, in Salt Lake City, UT .
Top 4 in the Juvenile and Intermediate level (the 2 levels below Novice) events of each of the 9 Regionals advance to the 2003 U.S. Junior Figure Skating Championships, Dec. 10-14, in Lake Placid, NY.
Top 4 in the Novice, Junior and Senior level events of each of the 3 Sectionals advance to the 2003 U.S. Figure Skating Championships, Jan. 12-19, in Dallas, TX.
If you've never experienced attending a U.S. Regional or Sectional competition in person before and live in the area of one listed above, I highly recommend it :). It's a heckuva lot cheaper than US Nationals, and the quality of skating can often be just as high, as well as exciting!
