Did anyone watch it? I missed the first hour because I didn't check my local TV listings.:x I enjoyed it as always. Brian is amazing. I still find myself judging all male skaters by his standards, even after all these years.:)

I thought the whole show was pretty meh. Except for Brian--who was definitely fantastic as always. I think he's edging back up on my list of favorite male skaters--he's always superb, and he never phones it in. You can just tell these days who studied figures (and did well at them) and who didn't....it's so glaringly obvious.

I actually enjoy these specials, except for one thing.
Can't the skaters just skate, as opposed to hawking wines or spices or anything else for that matter?

Unfortunately, the hawking wines, etc. seems to be part of the job. After all, if it wasn't for sponsors, we wouldn't be seeing the shows, right? Now, if the AFLAC duck ever shows up on the ice, well...

I agree that Brian never phones it in. Also agree that the skaters who actually had to do the school figures are superior to the ones who didn't. The younger skaters just don't have the same capabilities. I think skating lost a lot after the school figures were no longer required, even though the school figures caused some inequities as to who won in comps too.

One of my coaches I have worked with the past 4 summers at a training camp just turned professional this year and was on Brian's show yesterday. I didn't care for some of the "fluff" during the show (I like pure competition skating more so than show skating), but aside from that it was enjoyable to watch. Plus is was really cool seeing someone I know perform!

What I most appreciated about this show was to see that Brian continues to employ his friends (Renee Roca, Scott Williams, Elena(?) Gomez).

I think Amber Corwin will be this generation's Caryn Kadavy, I saw her on at least three skating specials over the holidays.
