I just read this (http://www.usfigureskating.org/event_story.asp?id=37024) article on Johnny and Evan's injuries. Is it possible that neither will make it to US Nationals? Can either or both get a bye to Worlds?

Wow! I had no idea that both of them were injured, let alone with similar injuries. Hopefully with some time off, they can recover by next month's national championships.

I feel a bit sadder for Evan than I do for Johnny, suprisingly.

I of course never wish pain or injury on anyone, but Evan really has a shot this year at Worlds, with his current LP. If he could finish Top 3 after the SP, I know he could easily medal, perhaps a silver this time? :halo:

Johnny, on the other hand, is proving to be a "Nationals" skater. Yeah, he can win Nationals for the next 8 years, but I have serious doubt of him ever medaling at Worlds. He does not have the cajones to take what he wants, in my opinion.

And on top of that, John Baldwin got mugged and beaten unconscious on the way back to his hotel after the GP Final in St. Petersburg. Fortunately, some locals found his room key and drove him back to his hotel. Let's hope he is fully recovered soon and able to resume his practice for Nationals.

OMG! I didn't know that. Is he badly injured?

That's all I know. There was no mention of a hospital stay or long-term injuries so I'm hoping that means he's okay.

This is also the first I've heard of this happening. Poor John *and* Rena. She must have been out of her mind when she found out what had happened to John.

I hope everyone will be fine and good to go for US Nationals.

Why was there no mention of John getting mugged on the televising of the Grand Prix Final? Did it really happen?

In the past, if a skater fell and cut their arm, it was international drama. An American skater getting mugged and beaten unconcious in Russia does not deserve a mention, a well wish for the skater?

Plus, what about Johnny's attitude after being "called out" by Peter Carruthers? I loved it, but I am surprised no one here has mentioned it. Especially after Johnny questioned another skaters (Evans) integrity.

I too can't believe there was no mention about John's mugging. This is just the kind of thing that ABC loves to focus on. I missed the interview with Johnny, because I was watching in and out, while I was making a couple of pies. What was his attitude?

Never mind. I saw your response in the other section.
