I saw this petition request on the Santa Rosa Figure Skating Club's website. Thought our California members and lurkers might be interested in the cause. (378 signatures as of today at 9:05am EST)
Don't let our fellow skaters lose their rink.
A landmark ice arena is in danger of closing. The continued existence of Berkeley Iceland is under threat due to actions by the City of Berkeley. There is an ongoing online petition meant to demonstrate to the City of Berkeley that the rink has widespread support and should be granted landmark status.
