View Full Version : ISU makes it easier for pair and dance skaters to partner? Why won't USFS adopt?

The ISU unanimously agreed to make it easier for skaters from different countries to partner up in dance and pairs. The USFS apparently won't discuss this until their next meeting in May of 2007- too late for couples wanting to participate in this year’s competition year.
Does anyone know if there is any provision in the USFS rules that would allow a vote on this before September 1st?
Does anyone know if there are other countries that are refusing to act this year on this?

USFSA By-laws require policy changes to be voted on by the membership delegates at Governing Council. Since GC takes place in May, the ISU changes cannot be considered until next year.

Besides, considering that US qualifying competition season begins in less than two months, it's a little late for new couples to be forming now, I should think.

Why would you assume that teams are just forming?

Because it's pretty tough to keep new teams a secret for very long in this country....

Do you think the timing of the ISU's decision is a deliberate ploy to keep the USFSA and the U.S.A. shut out, or in some way left back?

Just trying to get some interesting thoughts out there. I know nothing personally.
