How do you think is music able to improve an impression if a skater doesn't perform perfectly? Or the main thing is still the level of skating?

I definitely think the quality of the skating is the most important thing. But the wrong music, like a bad costume, can distract from the skating.

Quality of skating is definitely number one but a good choice of music underlines that ability, is the icing on the cake so to speak.

I agree...most skaters have definite characteristics -- for example, a skater like Arakawa who seems to float appears to her best advantage with something lyrical, very melodic.
Few are the skaters who are versatile enough to skate to almost anything, Kurt Browning, Ilia Kulik, Kristi Y, Alexander Abt, Sasha Cohen are among the few.
