Joseph Serafine
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- Joseph Serafine, a member of the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame who Scott Hamilton once dubbed "Ice Man," has died, according to U.S. Figure Skating. He was 88.
A vice president of the organization, Serafine also was a national judge, referee and ice technician.
Serafine, who died Friday, was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1996. Among other prominent posts, he served on the U.S. Figure Skating board of directors from 1968-1983.
Serafine was given the F. Ritter Shumway Award in 1992, honoring his contributions to figure skating.
