So my friend and I are *hoping* to go on a 2 week road trip this summer. Starting in Oregon, we plan to go down to California, then across Nevada and Utah to wind up in Colorado, where we plan to skate in Colorado Springs. On the way back, we'll go up to Wyoming, skating in Jackson Hole, and across Idaho, skating in Sun Valley, and back to Oregon.

So, to those of you who know that area well, what other ice rinks could we stop at that'd be along our path, like in California?

Try arenamaps.com for basic info about rink locations, hours, web sites, etc.

I hear that the coastline between California and Oregon is VERY beautiful. Enjoy your trip! Be sure you know how to put on a spare tire before you leave for your trip (my friend who road tripped from Baltimore to Albuquerque and back one summer had 6 flat tires during their trip! they became pros at changing tires!)

Also, have a mechanic check out the car you'll be driving before you leave for the trip to make sure all the major things are working well and safely (brakes, tires, radiator, battery, etc.).

Have fun!!!!

If your trip through NV brings you to Vegas you can skate at the Las Vegas Ice Center ( www.lasvegasice.com ). You could also go skate at the rink inside the Rancho Fiesta but personally I much prefer the Ice Center. For one I don't like the idea of skating in a casino for the other I'm pretty sure it'd be less crowded.

If your trip takes you to the Los Angeles area, go check out Disney Ice in Anaheim ( http://www.anaheimice.com/ ). I was there for a competition last year and found it very nice.

The rink in Valencia ( http://www.icestation.net/ ) is supposed to be really nice as well but I haven't been there myself.
