My daughter ran upstairs with the Sunday comics, so excited to show me that one! It was fun talking about the different terminology between Canadian and US skating too!

Now imagine my poor hubby... not just did he have to sit in a cold rink for hours to watch our daughter skate a minute and a half but then wait again to watch me! :halo: :D

And for me it was the reason to pick up skates and take lessons myself instead of just watching.

Last week, my husband mentioned "proving himself" by watching me skate for hours when we were dating! He even got on the ice, learned how to do a one-foot glide, and said "I'm done."

He told our teenager that her boyfriends have to prove themselves by going to places other than hanging out at the park and the mall. "When a boy is willing to sit in a freezing rink for two hours and watch you skate, you know he's worthy!"

Thanks for posting the link, I forgot to do it Sunday.

My dad cut that out for me. He was so relieved when I stopped skating at 15 and he didn't have to sit in cold rinks any more. Little did he know that 25 years later, not only I would compete again, but my son would play hockey  . Dad spends a lot of time sitting in rinks once again. 8-) ;)
