Sarah mentioned in Sally Forth Comic

In Sunday's Sally Forth comic strip, Sally and her daughter Hilary are watching TV when Hilary says, "I'd love to be a gold-medal figure skater like Sarah Hughes."

Sally tells Hilary what would be involved in achieving such a goal, and Hilary decides to stick with dodgeball instead.

Now even I don't think this is particularly important, but seeing the comic reminded me of the discussion a few weeks back about whether Sarah qualified for the influential people list.

It's silly things like this comic strip that convince me that indeed Sarah belongs on such a list.

What is the "influential people list"? And, how could someone who is 16 years old be considered influential? What do they consider as influential? Influencing whom and about what?
Henry Kissinger, I would consider influential. A 16 year old figure skater, I don't know. Nothing against Sarah. I think she is great.
I remember years ago Brenda Baccaro (sp?), an actress, did a commercial for a feminine hygine product, smiling and telling us that it was really great. Now, I enjoyed watching Ms. Brenda in her movies, but why in the world would I want to listen to her talking about hygene products, politics, or anything besides making a movie?

Just so you know, I always wonder about stuff like that........I need to get out more!

Relax. It was the IFS Magazine list of people currently influential in figure skating, a list, I feel the need to point out, that Henry Kissinger did not make (although I would take his advice on feminine hygiene products any day).:lol:

Folks, if kids are studying and working hard in school because of Sarah, that doesn't make her influential??:?

If anybody can find the comic online, I'd love it if someone could post it to see in case I can't find it in print. If so, thanks a bunch for doing so.
