Maxim skates for Bulgaria. He is actually Russian -- his partner is Albena Denkava of Bulgaria. He appears to definitely be a man, and she appears to definitely by a woman.

So what's the confusion here?

Maxim is a boy's name so why would you think he was a she? He does have gorgeous hair which matches his wife Albena's beautifully. Maxim and Albena are a married dance couple and one of my favourites. I have met them and they are both even more gorgeous in real life than on TV. He has the most fabulous cantilever spreadeagle.
