If you check out Cohen's latest webdiary, there's some tease in there about some incredible news she hints about. Anyone think she's been asked to carry the US flag at the Olympics?

That was it? :frus:  With the way she presented the tease, I really thought it was going to be an important announcement of some kind.

It has been posted elsewhere that Sasha does not plan to attend the opening ceremony.

I love the name Sasha. I actually have thought about naming my first daugher Sasha. I don't think I would actually be naming her after Sasha Cohen though, even though she gave me the idea for the name.

Sasha is a nickname for Alexandra; I'd go with that, as Sasha is a bit cutesy.
Except that if one is actually Russian, it's a male nickname. For Aleksandr or whatever the equivalent is.
Our third child was named Alexandra, simply because I loved the name:) We call her "Lexi".
As far as carrying the flag goes, it was mentioned on an article linked from another board that Kwan was the figure skater nomination for the flag (mentioned by Baldwin, who is supposedly the figure skating captain of this year's Olys). The final decision hadn't been announced when I was reading up on it... I don't know if we're supposed to quote sources/other boards... so I won't do that. But if I'm supposed to, I apologize in advance! LOL!:)

"Skating's nominee to carry the U.S. flag in Friday's opening ceremonies is the last — but most visible — athlete to make its team, third-time Olympian Michelle Kwan. Baldwin confirmed the unanimous choice Tuesday. He and other U.S. captains meet today to select the flag-bearer."
