ha ha... I had just turned 3 ;) all I remember is Orser's LP costume and my aunt screaming obcenities because only Boitano was allowed to win LOL (guess the judges agreed :() though now that I think of it I just remember a red costume, for all I know I could be remembering Browning's Tequila costume LOL

thanks for the link. I remember watching that event while I was at work and going through all the emotions "Biotano - no, Orser!" and had the same emotion that I wish they both could have won. Truly a battle that lived up to the hype.

I remember staying up all night to watch The Battle of The Brians on TV. I desperately wanted Orser to win, because I had the hugest crush in the world on him. I remember Boitano skating first and he didn't make a single obvious mistake. As soon as Orser messed up that triple flip, it was clear that he wasn't going to win. Though he might still have had a chance if he had done a second triple axel instead of a double. Even though I prefer Orser's skating to Boitano's, I think the gold medal went to the right person that night. During the nineties I lost interest in figure skating, but now I love watching it as much as I used to. By the way, I was quite surprised to find that both Orser and Boitano are still skating and skating well. I think they have both aged quite well, especially Orser.
