I just got my current IFS magazine and it states that Tarasova is moving to Danbury. I find this interesting as there has been must speculation and interviews that said she is looking at options.
Did IFS get a scoop or did they make an assumption? Considering the time lag from getting info, printing, and then mailing, this scoop must have been known a long time ago.
And if family is looking for a 'home' to purchase for the family, there is a big difference between the Newington area and the Danbury area....
If indeed they are moving en masse to the Danbury area, I wonder when they will begin their training there permanently. As far as I know, the Danbury rink does not have an Olympic surface, so where will they go to practice on the larger surface??

I don' t think this has been decided for sure yet.

Housing in the Danbury area is going to be a lot more expensive than in Central Connecticut! Wait till they see the difference. It will be a big hit to the pocketbook.

I've heard from people in Connecticut that Tarasova had been looking at other rinks, but no one seemed to have heard that she'd decided on Danbury for sure. And considering how current news in IFS usually isn't, I'd be amazed if she'd decided that long ago without anyone in central CT knowing about it. Sounds to me like the article may not be 100% accurate. She may end up in Danbury, but don't count on it for sure.

Well, maybe for Tarasova's other students, but I don't think it will be much of a shock to Sasha's. The area they live in Southern California (most of Southern California at that) is quite expensive, even for quite modest housing.

Housing anywhere near the big apple is not cheap. :(
The prices are at an all time high right now too. Its really not a fun time to be shopping for homes. I want to buy one too but... :frus: - no way until hell freezes over or I'm really rich or the property market comes crashing (which probably won't be a lot %-wise, but any drop I'll gladly take).
I'd say for a nice family home in upper suburbia you're probably going to start at $500k and work your way on up. Florida - this ain't. Then again, its probably not much different here than soCal.
