Abt has apparently debuted his new SP and LP at a show in Japan. His SP music is to Russian Rock/Folk song called "Little Apple" about a Fisherman. His Freeskate is to Bolero and is said to have sharp, crisp movements and very, very, very unique choreography. He's said to look very much like a ballet dancer. His hair is long and pulled back in a pony tail (eeek!)

He's one of my favourite skaters and I think Bolero is a great choice for him. :)

The hair is awful. He looks like a slimeball stockbroker from some '90s movie. He's one of my favourites - let's hope Bolero is better than the hair!

Perhaps he's setting a new trend.
Just curious but for those of you who don't like his hair, will that stop you from being a fan?

It definitely won't stop me from being a fan. It will just make me appreciate his edges and the smoothness of his jumps all the more since his looks won't be a distraction ;-)

LOL, ITA with Skate4fun! although I must say if a skater's hair bother's me, it'll bother me through his/her entire skate. BUT, I won't stop being a fan--I've been a fan of Ilia Averbukh and partner since about 1996...his hair still bothers me, but at this point, I think he'd look really weird with a short, clean-cut do :P

I still have hope that Sasha will come to his senses and cut his hair!

Ok, having just seen him in person, I have to say, his hair doesn't look much longer than it did at the end of last season. He still looks great. Why he decided to wear it in a pony tail, I don't know. He must have had to slick it back since it's really not that long. It looks silly to me that way though. Maybe it's just too distracting when loose? I would suggest a trim instead...but I have to say I do like the longer hair look on some guys.

He did't wear it in a ponytail after he finished performing at the end of each day. Maybe it was getting into his eyes while skating?
