Help!!!!!

ok i just got new skates and i dont know how to tie them. I usually tie them tight at the top and loose at the bottom but i cant bend my knees when i tie my lace tight at the top. How do i tie my ice skates? :?: Please help :frus:

for new skates there are two methods I've been told to use, which have definitely helped me!

1. Don't tie the top hooks, if you do, do it loosely so you have room to bend your knees

2. The last hole before the hooks start prevents your ankle from bending and in new skates it's really stiff. My coach tells me to take out the laces from that top hole and then skip over it and continue lacing up with the hooks

you can choose to use one of these methods, or both. I find the 2nd one to be most useful, but the first method works at the very beginning.
