Hi, just wondering if there are any skaters here that are Musicians or Professional Musicians or music teachers...

Please post and let us know what you guys do :-)

Clarice

I teach clarinet at a couple of local colleges (30 students at one, 3 at the other), perform regularly with 2 local symphonies, and basically play for anybody who will pay me (gotta pay the ice bills!). My training has been useful in cutting music for my daughter (I can always make it sound like it was supposed to go that way), and in analyzing music for my synchro team according to structure and number of counts. I think it helps my presentation when I skate, though technique (or lack thereof) has something to do with that as well. What it doesn't help is nerves - I can play clarinet in front of thousands of people and not blink an eye, but put me center ice in front of judges and my knees start knocking!
