Hi!

I was wondering if anyone uses the lacing eyelets on the outside of the ankle notches on their skates. I previously skated in an older pair of SP Teri Super Deluxes which didn't have the ankle notches. I am now in a new pair of Jackson Elite Supremes and since I am still breaking them in I haven't used the lacing eyelets right outside of the ankle notches, but I haven't had any trouble with my heel slipping like in my old skates (they were a bit wide). What are your experiences with the eyelets at the ankle notches? Do you use them?

Thanks! :D

I have Jacksons. I use the ankle eyelets. The feel more secure when I do.

I skate in a Jackson Elite Plus. I didn't use the eyelets for about 6 months because I would develop blisters on the insides of my heels every time I did...since it was during the competitive season, I stopped trying. However, I did start lacing them through the eyelets over the summer, after I gave them a good half year to really break in, and they feel very secure. Either way, I never had a problem with my heel slipping.

OK, cool! Raye, Did you use them right away or wait until they were broken in?

Thanks for the reply penny!

Hi: I only didn't use them for about the first week or ten days. My skates are a year and a half old and I have used them (the eyelets) ever since.

Thanks for the info Raye!
I have only been on the ice in mine for about 5 days since I was only skating once a week until lessons started this past week. I was really surprised how much easier these have been to break in. I will definitely try the eyelets soon. Thanks again! :)
