i got new skates mabey 3 weeks ago. the bottem of my feet below the toes,in the center are hurting when i skate. but only when i put pressure on it. They're hurting less and less when i skate, but the past couple of pratices they havent been getting better. Its only hurting in my left foot. Any idea what it is? Is it because my boots havent broken in yet?
thank you thank you.

Try replacing your current insoles with more comfortable ones.

I think you got Silver Stars, right? If you only skate once or twice a week, I don't think they'd be broken in yet. Give it some time. ;)

Is your pain between the 3rd and 4th metatarsal? If so, it could be Morton's Neuroma which is caused by having the foot squished in the skate or shoes, heels, or flat feet.

It's easy to tell if that's the cause of the pain. Press along the bones in foot and see if you have pain. Then put pressure between those bones and see if it hurts. If it does, I'd check with your doctor soon. I've had this problem for 15 years. Most times, it's no problem. Every now and then, new shoes cause the pain. With a gel pad in my correctly fitted footwear for a few weeks usually helps.

The orthopedist wanted to operate when it was first discovered. The Chiropractor worked with me. After solving the initial pain 15 years ago, I have only had two incidents of pain from this. One about 5 years ago and one currently. I am back to the gel pad in shoes to take the pressure off. Hopefully, this will help again. If not, I'll be fitted for a custom orthodic. I will explore all options before considering surgury. Check out the link below and good luck!

it dosent hurt at all when i put pressure on the bones. It only hurts for a little bit when i first get on the ice. The first weeks it took a while to stop hurting, but now it stops hurting like after one spin.
but it does hurt between around the 2nd 3rd and 4th toes

It could be an arch problem. I had a similar problem with my skates (custom Harlicks) in that the arch was a little too high for my foot. Every time I would put weight on my left foot (as in learning some backward moves) it hurt like hell. It took me quite a while to figure it out. I'm not saying this is the problem with you, but it might be worth looking into.

Well, that doesn't sound too serious! It sounds like you are just breaking in the skates!

My skates always hurt just a little when I first put them on -- just compressing my feet into those tight things that are nothing like street shoes that I wear will do it. Once I get moving, I don't even notice my feet -- I'm too busy concentrating on my lousy skating!! :frus:
