What do you think is the hardest compulsory dance?

Since you've only listed Internationals, it's hard to determine which is hardest, since I don't know any of them.

If you ask me, the Killian is the hardest dance because of the speed.

Of course today is the first day that I officially started learning it with a partner!!

(So I would have to say that the hardest compulsory is generally the one you are currently working on! )

I picked the Austrian, being one of the few I've tried......it has twizzles up the wazoo & insanely fast music. Though I've heard (& I agree from having watched it) that the Golden Waltz is also very very difficult.

All internationals are really hard (that's why they're internationals!)....

Having watched the ISU video on these dances goodness knows how many times in the last week  I'v gone for the Golden Waltz being the hardest. I think the Tango Romantica is the nicest to watch :D and the Silver Samba the easiest looking (only because the easier Riolada Samba uses the beginning and end steps of this dance which doesn't leave so much in the middle...and a lot more people dance this at dance club than any of the others on the list!! ;) )

I had heard that the Golden was the hardest, but one of my friends said the Yankee Polka is harder. After Lake Placid I think the Ravensberger looks hard too because it's really fast.

I haven't learned any Internationals yet, although my coach told me that I should start following his junior team around and try to pick up the Austrian. I know all my dances through the Gold, although I haven't done the Argentine in a really long time and I was bad at it then anyway, so not counting the Arge I'd say the hardest one I do is the Westminster, which I love.

hte Golden definately gets the vote.
The austrian is quite easy actually, its just being able to look good while you dance with the timing. Of course it is easier if you have a good leader.

I like the westminster a lot too!
The yankee is not too difficult, its just hard to get the proper stroke and push out of a push without going off time or dying by the end of the pattern!

I heard from my coach the Golden was the hardest for her. Me, I'm having trouble with the tuck back on the Rhthym Blues!

I hated the end bit on the rhythmn blues (if thats the bit you mean, think we call it something different!) until my coach me made me do circles round the centre of the rink of slip chasse, normal chasse, cross behind chasse...keep repeating in something like this order round and round the circle. You end up going pretty fast, but crossing behind at the end of the rhythmn blues seems nice after that! 8O

I rapidly get tired of watching compulsory dance. The same music, the same moves. On the other hand in this dance the level of pair is getting clear. The golden walse is the most difficult because dancing in a low speed you should perform perfectly

The first side of Yankee is tough but you get a breather on the second side. There's no rest break anywhere in Golden though. There are also a lot of changes of hand hold and of course the infamous dip in the middle of the side two twizzle sequence. When wrongly done I've seen girls nearly body slammed into the boards by their partners.

Austrian is fun, it's got this nice dancy feeling to it.

Once you get past the first twizzle Ravensburger isn't so bad, just remember to push for all you're worth.
