It depends on your personal choice, too. Some blades, like the Gold Seal, for example, have cross cut toe picks, and give you a better grip on the ice. Some blades have flatter rockers, and are better for speed than others.

Since you're working on doubles, you'd probably want to get something from the 'Advanced Freestyle' category. Try the links below, the first is for MK blades, and the 2nd is for John Wilson blades.

If you're still stuck, ask your coach for advice.

Good luck! :D

At this level, most people choose between Pattern 99's (slightly cheaper) and Gold Seals (slight more expensive). Most of my friends are on Pattern 99s ( don't know anyone using GoldStars); I've been using a Gold Seal since I was in pre-juvenile. GoldSeals are a faster blade, but Pattern99s offer more stability, especially in centering spins. If you have no problem with spins, I'd go with the GoldSeal, even though it's a little more expensive, because it'll give you much more power. If you have an spin issues, I'd go with the Pattern99.

Your best bet, however, is probably to see if anyone at your rink wears skates roughly your size (or if your skate person has an old pair of blades your size) and see if you can try it out. Talk to the person who does your skates and your coach to figure out which is better for you.

I'd second Perry- either the Pattern 99's or the Gold Seals would work for you. If you're having double axel problems, I'd suggest Gold Seals, cause I like their toepick better. Of course, this is a personal decision. Both blades are very good- the first quad was landed on a Pattern 99, and Gold Seal is worn by pretty much every skater on the U.S. podium. Can't go wrong.
